Continuing the story of the artwork on the cover of the Chelsea programme.
Mr William Grogan, after drawing the first cartoon in March 1907, continued to produce the artwork for the front cover of the Chelsea Chronicle until the end of the 1907-08 campaign as well as continuing his player profile sketches.
His work, however, was sporadic, as not every home programme featured a cartoon on the front cover. His final cover appears to be the Chelsea v Notts County programme on 29th April 1908, a game that Chelsea lost 2-1 with the goal coming from George Hilsdon in front of a 10,000 gate.
At the start of the 1908-09 season there was a new ‘hand’ at work.
